🚫Elon Musk will ban Apple devices?

Following Apple's introduction of AI features and a partnership with OpenAI, Elon Musk announced on June 10 that he would ban Apple devices from his companies if Apple integrates OpenAI at the operating system level, deeming it a significant security risk. Musk emphasized that visitors would need to store their Apple devices in a Faraday cage before entering his facilities. He criticized Apple for not developing its own AI technology and doubted their ability to ensure security and privacy. This stance comes after Musk sued OpenAI and launched his own AI venture, xAI, to compete with them.

How Apple dominated again?

Apple's Entry into AI:

Apple is introducing its AI system, "Apple Intelligence," to the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This system integrates powerful generative models into Apple devices, enhancing capabilities in native apps such as image generation and text summarization. The system emphasizes security by deciding whether to use on-device processing or Apple's private cloud server and will be available for free on iPhone 15 Pro and iPads and Macs with an M1 chip or later.

Enhancements to Siri:

Siri, Apple's voice assistant, is getting significant AI upgrades. It will now appear as a pulsating light on the edge of devices and offer deeper integration with apps. Siri will utilize large language models (LLMs) to better understand user commands and manage follow-up requests. Additionally, Siri integrates with OpenAI's ChatGPT, allowing users to employ ChatGPT for certain queries, subject to user permission.

AI Features in Applications:

Apple is adding new AI features to various apps:

• Mail and Messages: AI will summarize emails and generate responses.
• Genmoji: A feature to create custom emojis from text prompts.
• Image Playground: An AI image generator.
• Photos app: Enhanced search using natural language and background object cleanup, similar to Google's Magic Eraser.
• Notes and Phone apps: AI-powered transcriptions and summaries.

These new AI capabilities will be part of iOS 18, enhancing productivity and user interaction with Apple's ecosystem.
