🔥 IN DEVELOPMENT THIS WEEK

🤗HuggingFace introduces new LLM dataset

HuggingFace has introduced FineWeb, a massive dataset designed for large language model (LLM) pretraining. FineWeb comprises 1.5 trillion tokens and requires 44TB of disk space. This release aims to enhance the capabilities of LLMs by providing a vast and diverse set of training data. FineWeb is expected to significantly contribute to the development and performance of future AI models.

🤖 GPT-4o GOT “HACKED”

GPT-4o UNCHAINED*

We witnessed the release of a jailbroken version of ChatGPT, dubbed "GODMODE GPT," by a hacker known as Pliny the Prompter. This custom GPT bypasses OpenAI's guardrails, enabling unrestricted responses to prompts, including illegal activities such as making meth or napalm. *OpenAI quickly intervened and deactivated the jailbreak due to policy violations. The incident underscores the ongoing struggle between AI developers and hackers attempting to override restrictions. Pliny's use of "leetspeak"—a language substituting letters with similar-looking numbers—helped bypass OpenAI's safeguards. This scenario highlights the continuous challenge OpenAI faces in maintaining the integrity and safety of its AI models.

🍎 SIRI FINALLY GETS A BUFF?

WWDC Coming next week - what to expect?

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), set to begin next week, has the tech community eager with anticipation for significant software updates, though no new hardware is expected. Key highlights:

iOS 18: Touted as the "biggest upgrade in the device's history," expected to launch in September, featuring more customizable home screens.
AI Advancements: Potential partnership with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT to iOS and major AI enhancements to Siri, aiming for full capabilities by 2025.
Generative AI for Emojis: Users may create custom emojis with AI for specific situations.
Other Updates: New Vision Pro software, voice memo transcriptions, and advanced photo editing tools.

Major announcements on June 10 at 1 p.m. ET will focus on these developments.

🔎 IN FOCUS THIS WEEK

Google Documents Leak Saga

A leak of 2,500 internal Google documents has been confirmed as authentic by the company. These documents detail data that Google collects, which may be used in its search ranking algorithm, offering an unprecedented but unclear view into the system. Google warns against drawing conclusions from potentially outdated or incomplete information. The leak, revealed by SEO experts Rand Fishkin and Mike King, indicates Google may use data previously claimed irrelevant to search rankings, such as clicks and Chrome user data. The leak is expected to impact the SEO, marketing, and publishing industries by providing insights, though it remains unclear which data Google actually uses for search rankings.
